Paddle boarding (a.k.a. stand up paddling or SUP) is rapidly growing in popularity around the world. Why? Because you can paddle anywhere there’s water – oceans, lakes and rivers. That’s a LOT of options! Whether you choose to paddle for fitness, to explore, to spend time with the family, or all-out racing, there are so many fun ways to experience stand up paddling. With the Willamette running through the heart of the city, Portland is the perfect place to SUP.
For not much more than the cost of rental gear you might want to consider taking a lesson. While it’s true stand up paddling isn’t complicated (part of it’s appeal!), instruction of proper technique, safety and river knowledge from a certified instructor will have you paddling with confidence in no time.
Gorge Performance will be offering stand up paddle (SUP) lessons beginning in May, 2012. You’ll be able to choose from a variety of group or private lessons to suit your needs.
We’re finalizing the schedule, rates and curriculum now and will have complete info posted soon. Please check back here for updates.
